Flowers used as medicine
Yeah you heard it right flowers can be used as medicines too. Especially, in Indian garden there are few flowers to consider if you want to invest in a beautiful and medicinal garden.
Hibiscus and roses
Hibiscuses and roses are pretty basic flowers in households, but do you know that these flowers are really good in terms of skin health and also other minor things like obesity and even cancer to some extent. So, let us look at what they can do individually...
HibiscushibiscusHbiscuses have always been known for their medicinal uses from centuries. I remember my mom telling me that they used to take the pollen grains from the flower and eat them. It felt a bit odd when I first heard it, but when I actually started growing hibiscus as a flowering plant and I researched on it, I got to know that people even boil the petals in water and drink the tea to lower blood pressure and obesity. Not only that, the tea is so OP that, research suggests that it even has anticancer properties, as it has antioxidant compounds. So, yeah a tiny chemotherapy there. Antixoidants work great against cellular damage which lead to some chronic diseases like diabetes, Obesity, Cancer and heart diseases too. So instead of thinking it as a cure that can kill such diseases, it is better to consider it as a prevention measure and take it. Some say that it even tastes better, so yeah, another encouraging factor there. Althought it is so good, it is better suggested to take it in limited quantities, as too much of anything can also be bad.
RoseroseRoses which also are pretty common in every indian household does have few of its own wonders. Most of rose benefits are for the skin As we often see cosmetic products and skin-care products having rose water present inside, natural rose water can bring in the effects quickly and effectively that too obviously without any side effects. Mainly because of the anti-inflammatory properties that rose possess, it can reduce skin problems like acne, skin redness, scars, cuts and burns and also few anti-aging properties too. So do consider it as your daily skin-care addition if you follow a natural skin-care regimen. Some studies also suggest that it improves bile secretion, yeah the bile juice which is used in digestion. Applying rose water is really a non-sensitive thing, it can be applied directly, mixed with water, can be applied with coconut or mustard oil. Also if you want to try out tea-style for all the tea lovers, then just like hibiscus, you can use the petals, boil them, filter the petals out ( you can use these filtered petals further as aroma therapy or dump it in compost ) and drink it. Also rose is such a great way for aromatherapy which is good for your nose and your mind.
